The Canadian government has warned Buried Hill Energy, a Canadian company, which intended to develop in the debatable field in the Caspian, Matin Mirza, the spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told a news conference on Friday.

According to Mirza, Fakhraddin Gurbanov, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Canada, held several meetings with the officials of this country and expressed Azerbaijan's dissatisfaction with the actions of the Canadian company. He submitted a relevant data on the field. Besides, Canada stated that Azerbaijan holds a right to file a suit on the company, Mirza underlined.

As to demand of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry to clarify information placed in the Internet-site of the Canadian Foreign Ministry on the expediency of traveling of foreigners to Azerbaijan, the Canadian government said the information was taken from one of the private internet sites and expressed its readiness to correct the mistake, the spokesman said. Azerbaijan currently to prepare relevant materials for Internet-site of the Canadian Foreign Ministry.

According to Mirza, the Canadian Foreign Ministry has appealed to the Azerbaijan with inquiry in connection with the recent repeal by the Azerbaijani parliament to ratify a bilateral Convention with the Canada on avoiding dual taxation. The parliament took the step due to the participation on the Canadian company in the development of debatable field in the Caspian. Azerbaijan will give an official reply to Canada shortly, he stressed.
