The Caspian Shipping Company (CSC) begins exploitation of the "Gara Garayev" ferry in the route of Baku-Astrakhan on January 28.

According to the information given to APA from CSC, the ferry will convey lorries moving in the south direction to Astrakhan due to problems arisen in motor roads in connection with bad weather conditions. It was reported from CSC that the ferry of "ro-ro" type designed for wheeled motor transport facilities will realize its first voyage in this route. It should be noted that the ferry which is able to transport 60 loaded KamAZ lorries or 40 towed automobiles will reach Astrakhan in 2 days.
