The State Customs Committee (SCC) has set up the "COP29 - Customs Commission" and launched an action plan to enhance border processes for the 29th session of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, Azernews reports.

The plan includes fast-tracking border formalities, leveraging technology for contactless checks, and providing visitor guidance.

A temporary customs control zone has been set up at Baku Olympic Stadium to expedite the clearance of event-related materials, with designated personnel on site. Improvements were made in electronic pre-declaration processes for visitors, including QR code-based verification for simplified customs declarations, tailored especially for media personnel.

To boost security, customs authorities received advanced inspection equipment, including x-ray systems and baggage scanners. Informative videos on customs rules were made available on both the SCC and COP29 official websites to guide event participants and visitors.

Customs staff received training sessions aimed at enhancing field knowledge and service quality for the event, ensuring efficient handling and compliance with international standards.
