APA interviewed Sietse Bakker, of the Eurovision Song Contest
- What is your estimate of Azerbaijan-host Eurovision 2012 Song Contest?
- The staff is doing best to hold the contest at a higher level. All delegations and participants like Baku. Everyone speaks about the affability and kindness of your people. This is an important factor for holding the show at a high level.
- The rehearsals have already started. What do you think about the daily rehearsals?
- The rehearsals are held according to the schedule without delay. All participants are satisfied with the organization of the contest, performances and video filming. The stage directors are doing best to organize perfect conditions for the performances of all participants. The preparation work for the main show is perfect.
- What can you say about the technical equipments at the Baku Crystal Hall? There are some novelties in this arena.
- Crystal Hall is a newly-constructed building. It will be opened for the grandiose events by the Eurovision 2012 Song Contest. It leaves the world’s moist modern buildings for its composition and has the most modern technical equipments for amazing show.
- How many journalists have arrived in Baku for covering the contest?
- About 500 journalists have already arrived in Baku. 500 journalists more are expected to arrive in Baku in the next three days. They will arrive in Baku till the semi-final.
-Does anybody from the Armenian press will arrive in Baku to cover the contest?
- Representatives of Armenian press were not accredited and perhaps we will not see them in Baku.
- We know that the tickets for semi-final and final shows have been already sold. Today, many people are still trying to find ticket for the show.
- It is an excellent indicator. So, Baku Crystal Hall will be full during the shows.
- What do you like in our city? Did you taste our national cuisine?
-I like taking a walk in the seaside park. Your city looks very romantic in the evenings. The people are very affable and desire to help. I completely forget tiredness when see the view from the hotel windows. I had opportunity to taste your national cuisine and become familiar with your culture and traditions. I like your tea-parties.
- Which places do you advise tourists to see in our city?
- I think that the Eurovision song contest is a great chance to visit Baku. They must take a walk in the National Seaside Park in the evening and Icheri Sheher.
- Do you have favorites between the representatives this year? Whom will you vote during the semi-final and final shows for?
- All songs in the contest have own history. It is important to attract the attention of audiences. I have a lot of work during the show and so I can’t vote.
