Turkey and Iraq agreed to organize an agriculture and stockbreeding fair in Iraq, Turkish Agriculture Minister Mehdi Eker said on Wednesday.
Eker, who met Iraqi Trade Minister Safaa al-Din al-Safi in Ankara, said that such a decision made to boost agricultural trade between the two countries, which he said was almost one fourth of whole trade activity.
Eker recalled three agreements signed earlier on agriculture between Turkey and Iraq in Baghdad, and said the move was part of these agreements.
Iraqi and Turkish official also agreed to work together on a detailed study on modern agricultural techniques.
On his part, Iraqi Trade Minister al-Safi said that Iraq was eager to take advantage of Turkey's experiences on agriculture.
He also said that Iraqi government allocated 1 billion USD this year to improve agricultural fields and called on Turkish companies to be involved in these works.
He said Iraqi government asked support from Turkey to cultivate vast but idle fields.
