Azerbaijan, also known in the world as the Land of Fire, boasts a large number of beautiful and majestic mountain localities, ideal for visiting any time of year, whether summer or winter.

More than half of Azerbaijan's territory is occupied by mountains : in the north - the Greater Caucasus mountain range to the south-west - the backbone of the Lesser Caucasus. The highest point in the country is Bazarduzu mountain or Dividing Range (4466 m). In the central part of the country is the Kura-Araz lowland, in the south-east - Lankaran lowland.

The climate of Azerbaijan is very diverse. Nine out of eleven existing climate zones are present here.  Diversified plants and flourishing forest provide animals with good survival environment, which makes the Land of Fire a real animal paradise.
