The National Migration Program will be adopted in Azerbaijan till the end of the year, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labor and Social protection told Trend.
The project has already been prepared at the Ministry and submitted to the Government for consideration. It has been prepared according to the enactment of the country's Cabinet of Ministers. The document has been developed by the working group, composed of the local and international experts. The program aims at regulation of the situation in the country, related to the migration and people trafficking. It also reflects the ways for fighting against use the country's territory for the illegal migration transit.
The Program also envisions ensuring transparency between the legislation and the practice in this field, ensuring more effective and civil migration process, unification of the country's legislation with international standards, as well as intensification of fight against the illegal migration.
After considering in the country's Government, the project will be presented to the country's President. The Ministry also noted that Azerbaijan had adopted over 20 legal documents on regulation the situation in the migration field. The concept of the migration policy management, working since July 2004, has been elaborated by the State Commission on preparation of the single program of migration management.
