The Israeli and Hebrew Studies Center has opened at the Azerbaijan State University of Languages with Israeli Embassy assistance.

The opening of the Center will contribute in proximity of the two nations and states, the Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Artur Lenk, said in his opening remarks, according to Trend.

It comes as the second center opened with assistance from the Israeli Embassy in Baku following the first one at the Baku State University, he noted. We are ready to cooperate with any university of Azerbaijan, the diplomat underscored.

"Azerbaijan has always supported the position of balanced policy with Israel, that's one of the nearest neighbors of Azerbaijan," MP Samed Seyidov, the rector of the University, stated at the ceremony.

The university closely cooperates with the universities of Israel on students' exchange, teachers of scientific methodology and is interested in further expansion of the existing relationships, the rector stressed. The Israeli Embassy has also assisted with the equipment.
