Iranian intelligence bodies have banned accessing to Azerbaijani Internet sites, Said Mughanli, editor of the newspaper "Yarpag" stated.
He reported that the ban aims at depriving Iranian Azerbaijanis of the contact with the international community, APA reports. Mughanli also said the Iranian authorities prevented Azerbaijanis recent march to the Babek tower and intend to impose information blockade on them. "Iranian intelligence services have taken control of all information sources for this purpose. The law-enforcement bodies have recently examined the "Yarpag" newspaper confiscating computers, books and several documents. The editor-in-chief of the newspaper Eyvaz Taha was detained and released afterwards. The newspaper publication has been banned unofficially," Mughanli said. The editor also said that the Azeri magazine "Dilmanj" suffers pressures too. Iranian intelligence services demanded the chief editor Alirza Farzafi to stop publishing. However, the chief editor says the magazine can be banned only by court decision.
