The Government of Azerbaijan pays great attention to the development of football, FIFA President Joseph Blatter said to a press conference in Baku on Monday.
"Not every country in the world pays so much attention to football like Azerbaijan. Future generations will benefit from this," said Blatter.
He expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan, which backed him in the election of president of FIFA. He also said that the Azerbaijani referee Tofik Bakhramov, identifying the decisive goal at the World Championships in 1966, wrote the story.
UEFA President Michel Platini said to the news conference that the Dalğa Arena stadium in Mardakan contains pleasant atmosphere. He said the pleasant is the location of the stadium by the sea and that it has all the conditions for families to come to play football and have a rest.
"The sports infrastructure is at a high level in Azerbaijan, it remains to train good football players," said Platini.
On the occasion of 100 years of football in Azerbaijan on Monday in the Football Center, built in Mardakan AFFA, the opening of the stadium "Dalğa Arena" and support the site.
The Dalga Arena Stadium and a subsidiary stadium constructed by the Azerbaijani Football Federations Association (AFFA) in the Mardakan settlement opened today as a part of the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani football.
The presidents of FIFA, UEFA and AFFA, Joseph Blatter, Michel Platini and Rovnag Abdullayev, cut the red ribbon.
There is great support for football at the state level in Azerbaijan, but in addition, FIFA and UEFA will also help in all initiatives, the President of AFFA Rovnag Abdullayev said to the press conference.
