Your Corner" is exactly what you think it is - your stories, pictures, art, and pretty much everything else you can share with the rest.
This "Your Corner" post features an event organized by Cavid Aliyev, Azerbaijani student of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology Electrical Engineering- KAIST University.
He wrote us: Unfortunately, Azerbaijan, which is geographically mid-spot for Europe and Asia, is not much known in South Korea. So, I made a decision on visiting every school in my city and present my Motherland.
So, I have launched my initiative from the Jeongrim Middle School in South Korea. Prior to the presentation I have learned that most of the students had no idea about Azerbaijan. However, following the event each student, who partake in the presentation, and their parents were astounded by the history, culture and cuisine of Azerbaijan. Even some made a decision to visit and personally see Azerbaijan's beauty.
During the presentation, I played the "Bayati Shiraz" Mugham on tar. Words are not enough to describe their feeling when I started playing "Arirang" - Korean Folk Song on Tar after Mugham. Koreans' only word was "wow" and was followed by the question how can a foreign instrument sound our Arirang better than ours? Answer was simple: It is the strength of Azerbaijan's Musical Trends.
