Azerbaijan is 3rd at Islamic Weightlifting Championships

Young Azeri weightlifters have claimed a clutch of 8 medals including 5 golds at the 2012 Islamic solidarity championships. Golds came from Pasha Ibrahimli who claimed 3 medals in the 62kg weight category and Firudin Guliyev who won 2 medals in the 69kg class.

Rauf Nabiyev won two silver medals in the 62kg division, while Guliyev added silver to his medal haul. Azerbaijan ranked third in the overall medal table, behind Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
