Obvious sides of Sochi meeting

The statements made ??at the Sochi meeting showed once again that Azerbaijan is taking a constructive approach in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. Armenia, on the contrary, is not going to abandon its destructive stance.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev once again took ??a fair and concrete position on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, reiterating the four UN Security Council resolutions, which demand an immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian occupation forces from Azerbaijan's territories. He also expressed concern that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict's settlement has dragged on.

Azerbaijani president also noted that a fair solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh problem is possible within the framework of the rights and principles of international law.

The position voiced by Azerbaijan at the Sochi meeting became a message to the OSCE Minsk Group member countries that Azerbaijan does not intend to give up its lands which are under occupation. Azerbaijan's foreign policy is based on national interests. Azerbaijan does not take any political decisions, designed for today. Azerbaijan will never sacrifice Nagorno-Karabakh to political processes underway in the region, and this position is fair.

The other obvious side of the Sochi meeting was the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's inadmissible stance. His choice of words did not correspond to the meeting format. His opinions did not relate to the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, and once again showed that there has not been any progress in Serzh Sargsyan's morality or political literacy. His political literacy has remained at the level of the 90s of the last century.

It should be stressed that the escalation of tensions by Armenian armed forces and the death of an Azerbaijani martyr on the eve of a Sochi meeting demonstrated Serzh Sargsyan's position.

The Sochi meeting entrusted Serzh Sargsyan's government with great responsibility, the responsibility for the bloodshed if Azerbaijan starts liberating its territories from occupation. Tomorrow Armenia, being in a deep economic crisis, will face a political crisis. While being remembered by his people for childish tricks, Serzh Sargsyan leads his people to a more tragic future.

Another visible feature of this meeting was that Russian President Vladimir Putin's position shown during the discussions confirmed his country's interest in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. Despite Armenia is closer to Russia than Azerbaijan, in his appeal, President Putin demonstrated an independent position. He said that Azerbaijan and Armenia have good intentions for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

While stressing that it is possible to find a way out of any difficult situation, President Putin called on the parties to come to an agreement on the conflict settlement in the near future. Obviously, the Russian president intends to take the initiative to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict himself.

All the above-mentioned was only the visible side of the recent presidential meeting. The results of the invisible side of the meeting will be announced later.

Serzh Sargsyan's sincerity and interest in solving the problem within the norms and principles of international law will be known in the coming days.
