Three oil wells of preliminary drilling have been bored on 'Shahdeniz' oilfield (Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian) at the length of 40 km from offshore, Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) reports.
According to the last estimates, 'Shhdenis' is rich in 38 Bln cubic meters of gas and 2,1 Mln condensates.
The first gas to be produced on the field will be transported from Georgia to Turkey via the Southern-Caucasian pipeline in 2006, and then, from Turkey it will be transported to Europe. Main project expenses average 4,1 Bln USD. Currently project monthly expends 100 Mln USD.
'Shahdeniz' is to be one of the ten large-scale oil & gas projects of the world. Implementation of the project started from November 2003, and 51% of overall operations have been already conducted.
