National Bank of Azerbaijan intends to issue notes amounting to AZM 1 trillion

The State Committee for Securities (SCS) registered emission prospectus of short-term notes of the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) for 2006.

As APA reports refering to SCS, NBA intends to issue notes amounting to AZN 200 million (AZM 1 trillion) in the current year.

Face-value per note with mainly three-month circulation period was determined AZN 2000 (AZM 1 million).

It should be noted that NBA started emission of notes in September, 2004 and its main objective is reduction of high liquidity in the financial system.

As a result, NBA placed notes in amount of AZM 192 billion in 2004 and AZM 1.09 trillion in 2005.
