APA was given this explanation by the president of the Azerenergy Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) Etibar Pirverdiyev.
According to Mr.Pirverdiyev, delivery of Russian gas to the Azerbaijani frontier and directly to power plants costs Azerbaijan $110 and $120, respectively. On the other hand, Azerbaijan gradually supplies itself with electricity and therefore, official Baku does not issue a proposal to reduce prices.
Russia sells 3 billion kWh of electricity to Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan sells 1 billion kWh to Russia in the course of year.
