Japan's Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada also visited the Marmaray sub-sea tunnel project in Istanbul, amid the sites of Japan's economic cooperation projects.
As part of his visit to the Turkish capital, Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Katsuya Okada is expected to meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Monday.
The two ministers will hold a joint press conference following their talks.
Okada will attend the opening ceremony of the Japan Year 2010 in Turkey.
Japan Year 2010 in Turkey festivities will take place throughout the year.
