Turkish Minister says Iraq offers great opportunities for investors

Caglayan met with Iraqi Minister of Trade Safaa Al Deen Al Safi and an accompanying delegation in Ankara on Monday at the Foreign Trade Complex.

Speaking at the beginning of the meeting, Caglayan said that the trade volume between Turkey and Iraq increased every day.

"I hope that the communication between the peoples of Turkey and Iraq would increase. Turkey has always been on the side of Iraq and the Iraqis. Turkey has always supported the territorial integrity of Iraq. Turkey has always been on the side of a 'single' Iraq. The government of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish people have always been on the side of Iraq in the past when problems arose concerning the existence of a 'single' Iraq," Caglayan said.

We want to work with you in the industrial, commercial, educational, medical and tourism fields and help the restoration of Iraq, Caglayan stressed.

Iraq is a convenient market in which to make investments, Caglayan also said.

Minister Safi, in his part, said that relations between Turkey and Iraq got strengthened every day.

Economic integration is crucial for our future, Safi said.

We want to place our future under guarantee. This depends on deepening our relations with Turkey, Safi noted.

Turkish businesspeople should come to Iraq and make investments. We will provide great incentives to Turkish businesspeople, Safi also said.
