Priceless rarity: Baku of the 60's and 70's - PHOTOS

So, as part of our "Your Corner" project, we have something very special. Not going to go far this time - its all here, in Azerbaijan. In Baku to be exact. A look back at the city of winds, the way it was, in the late 60's, early 70's. A photo album of Baku, published in 1972, with over 70 pictures of Baku, which most would not even recognize today. Imagine Baku, less of everything - the cars, the buildings, etc.

Why is this priceless? Because for the youngsters its a perfect way to see what their city looked like decades ago, a city they never knew, never saw, never really heard of. Old timers can allow themselves a few grins, as they were probably growing up, this kind of Baku was exactly what they remember. For each and everyone of us, its a piece of history.
