Complex Drilling Works Trust of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has started drilling two new wells in ‘Pirallahi Adasi guru’ (The Pirallahi Island - onshore) and ‘Pirallahi Deniz’ (The Pirallahi Island - offshore), said the message of the state oil company Oct.15.

The message said that the project depth of the well No.1147 on ‘Pirallahi Deniz’, which is being drilled from the platform No.1140, is 840 meters.

“The project depth of the well No.1185 on ‘Pirallahi Adasi guru’ is 800 meters,” said the message. “Daily production rate of both wells will be four tons of oil.”

The company produced 5.54 million tons of oil from offshore and onshore fields of the country in January-August 2015, or 1.4 percent less than in the same period of 2014 (5.62 million tons).

In total, SOCAR produced over 8.32 million metric tons of oil in 2014, compared to 8.31 million metric tons in 2013.
