Oil exports from Azerbaijan in January- August 2006 amounted to 13.361 million tonnes, up 71.5% year-on-year.
The Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli operator Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) exported 12.631 million tonnes of the oil, up 94.6%, a source in the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Interfax. AIOC exports through the Baku-Supsa pipeline amounted to 4.708 million tonnes, with exports through the Baku-Novorossiisk pipe of 2.4 million tonnes, exports by rail to Batumi - 3.149 million tonnes and exports via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline - 2.374 million tonnes. SOCAR exported 730,000 tonnes, down 40.3%.
