Azerbaijan is the leader of South Caucasus for the number of internet users according to the International Telecommunication Union.

It is estimated that some 408,000 internet users have been registered in Azerbaijan.

According to the rating, in Azerbaijan the index of the number of internet users per 100 people makes up 5.6. Azerbaijan rates the 85th in the world for this indicator.

Azerbaijan rates the 120th for internet visits among 198 countries.

For the Net visits Armenia ranks the 124th with 150,000 internet users. In Armenia the index of the number of internet users per 100 people makes up 5.03.

With 176,000 internet users (3.75 per 100) Georgia takes the 112 and 132nd places for the internet users and the Net visits respectively.

In the rating only those who were permanently registered, connecting the Net no less than once a week was taken into account.

Russia is the leader of the post-soviet region with 16 million users (11.5 per 100).

For the Net visits Estonia ranks 25th in the rating, Latvia 85th 41st, Ukraine 104th, and Belarus 63rd. For the number of internet users Ukraine is 35th and Belarus 47th. With 5,000 internet users Tajikistan enjoys the lowest rating among the CIS. One person in 100,000 connects the Net regularly in this post-soviet state.

New Zealand tops the rating with its index of registered users 80 per 100 people, the total number of population being 3.2mln. New Zealand is followed by Iceland (76.03/100).

Average global index of the internet users is 80 per 100 people. The USA is the leader for the number of providers and active users. There are 161 632 000 internet users and 7,000 providers.
