Alan Bryden, Secretary-General of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has visited Azerbaijan at the invitation of Azerbaijan State Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patents.

As APA reports, within the scope of the tow-day visit, the secretary general will meet with Premier Artur Rasizade, Industry and Energy Minister Natiq Aliyev, Economic Development Minister Heydar Babayev March 1.

On March 2, a roundtable in Baku will be held with participation of representatives from government bodies, foreign embassies, donor organizations and other agencies. The event is aimed at discussion of problems and prospects of standardization in Azerbaijan.

He will also meet with Defense Industry Minister Yavar Jamalov, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, and Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev.

Azerbaijan has become a full member of ISO since 2003. ISO promotes the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and services and to developing cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic activity.
