The income forecast for the first quarter was implemented by AZN 1.88 million or 96.9% higher than a year earlier, Azeri finance minister Samir Sharifov told a government meeting.

He said the Taxes Ministry met the target by 94.7% (87.6% year-on-year rise) and the Customs Committee 101.7% (+31.8%).

State Oil Fund transferred AZN 112.5 million. The expenditures of the state budget increased 25.6%, year-on-year, to AZN 834 million during this period. Social security and defense expenditures rose 127.5%, culture spending jumped 48.6%, healthcare outlays went up 35.1%, education expenses leaped 23.7%, and agricultural expenditures climbed 8%. 38.7% of the expenditures were social-oriented.
