Three days passing since Andreas Gross has spoken on advantages of using ink stamping to mark voted persons his idea was seconded by 500 candidates who signed a petition asking to employ the inking of fingers during the voting process.

The petition addressed to the Azerbaijani President, the chairman of the CEC, Baku Offices of the OSCE and Council of Europe, foreign embassies accredited in Azerbaijan. This was announced by Fuad Mustafayev, the deputy chairman of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP) on a Friday evening press conference.

Mustafayev also noted that other candidates representing Liberal Party, New Azerbaijan Party [the ruling party] and Communist Party, as well as National Unity Movement, election blocs ‘Yeni Siyasat’ (New Policy) and ‘Azadlig’ (Freedom) are expected to sign it shortly.
The document will be submitted to the Central Election Committee (CEC) and to the Milli Majlis (Parliament).
