Head of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov held a final press conference on the results of the parliamentary elections yesterday. He said that the "Elections" Information Center received the initial results: 46.8% of voters over the republic participated in the voting.

Stating that the CEC is investigating appeals, M.Panahov informed that they received 70 appeals on the election day and 45 yesterday. "The complaints were mainly about the interference of local authorities, dissatisfaction of candidates with the results. The CEC will review the appeals and make relevant decisions on investigating them. I suppose that, results of voting might be changed or abolished in about 10 Constituencies, depending on the results of the investigations," said .M.Panahov.

The head of the CEC also said that the elections were transparent and acknowledged that there were violations in some places. Reminding that international observers followed the voting, the CEC chairman said of their general opinion to be positive. Touching on the conduction of exit-poll in Azerbaijan, M.Panahov stated the results of the exit-poll conducted by PA Consulting Group coincided with the results of the CEC for 85%.

Commenting on the issue on Kyurdamir ConEC 57 and Sabirabad Con 1#63 the results of which have not been announced, M.Huseynov said he is informed that Farhad Garibov won in the Con#57 and P.Huseyin in Con#63. "However, I cannot announce it officially. As the commission members in the constituencies have no final opinion it is impossible to state any concrete opinion," said M.Panahov and mentioned that Aghdam village ConEC#119 and Surakhani conEC#31 among the constituencies the results of which are expected to be abolished.

The "Elections" Information Center ended its activity after the press conference was over.
