Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov on January 30 met with the newly appointed representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for Azerbaijan Abdellatif Tabet.

As AzerTAg reports, noting that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to development of links with FAO, Minister Mammadyarov spoke of the attention in the country for development of non-oil sector in the Republic. Azerbaijan is keen in projects joint with FAO in the agricultural field, he underlined.

A.Tabet said he would do his best for realization of joint projects within cooperation with the Azerbaijan Government.

The FM Mammadyarov expressed readiness for further co-op and also highlighted on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, on plight of refugees and IDPs expelled from their homelands, their problems.

In the meeting, also exchanged were views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.

Mr. Tabet presented his credentials to E. Mammadyarov.
