Ensuring regional security and stability are the important goal of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in this context as wel.
A special role here plays implementation of energy projects, chairman of the Turkish Parliament said in a statement, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Turkish Parliament. "The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline project which will be realized in the coming months is of strategic importance. After that we will consolidate our efforts in the framework of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erserum (BTE) gas pipeline project," Arinj said, noting that the significance of the BTE project became "even more tangible in the context of the latest developments in regard to the gas export to Europe". As for the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament noted the official Ankara attaches large attention to the commissioning of this railway. "This railway link will not only bring closer together Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan, it will also contribute greatly to the increase of transport deliveries from Europe to Central Asia," Arinj said, noting "he hopes the project will encourage other countries of the region to cooperation they anticipate". Along with this, Arinj has not ignored the issue of the losses and damages the Nagorny Karabakh conflict caused to Azerbaijan. Occupation of 20 per cent of Azerbaijan areas by Armenia violates the norms of the international law. For societies which selected a democratic road of development the fact of occupation cannot be acceptable. Turkey will support Azerbaijan feasibly in the Armenian - Azerbaijan conflict settlement, as well as in other matters, the Speaker summarized, stressing Ankara stands for the conflict settlement based on the principle of the territorial integrity.
