"I regret that the report was drawn up on the base of the incomplete information, presented to the U.S. State Department," Ramil Usubov, the Azerbaijani Internal Affairs Minister, said on Saturday.
"The activities of the Internal Forces and other law-enforcement bodies in 2005, measures taken by the law-enforcement bodies to prevent mass disorders were presented by the State Department as unlimited violent acts. I don't agree with it," Usubov underlined. "The law-enforcement bodies fulfilled the liabilities imposed on them under the law. They took appropriate measures in regard to the people violating the order within the law. Violation of law and infringement of human rights is out of the question," the Minister said. Usubov voiced regret that some forces willing tense the public-political situation in Azerbaijan and calling themselves pro-oppositionists used the report in their interest, Trend reports. According to Usubov, the Internal Forces and other law-enforcement bodies always served to prevention of chaos, anarchy and coup d'etat in Azerbaijan.
