May 4, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received at the presidential palace Chairman of legislative chamber of the Uzbek Parliament Erkin Khalilov.
As AzerTAg reports, Erkin Khalilov conveyed to President Ilham Aliyev greetings from his Uzbek counterpart Islam Karimov and mentioned good Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations pointing to necessity to further enhance political and economic cooperation between the two countries. "Our cooperation within international organizations is very fruitful, and this will be continued in the future. Developing the regional cooperation, we should support each other," he said. President Ilham Aliyev asked Erkin Khalilov to invite, on his behalf, President Islam Karimov to Azerbaijan, described relationship between the two nations as very close, and told of the reforms being implemented in the country. Chairman of legislative chamber of the Uzbek Parliament highly valued economic progress in Azerbaijan saying "we all are glad and proud of your achievements". Number of other issues of mutual interest were discussed during the conversation.
