'Azadlig bloc' will boycott municipal elections which will be held on October 6 for 1942 places in 604 municipality.
According to Sardar Jalalogli, not fulfillment of the obligations of Parliament Assembly of Council of Europe on improvement of election process by Azerbaijan authority was the main reason of the decision. The participation of the Musavat party, stayed away from 2004 municipal elections, will be defined on June 12. According to Gabil Huseyli, deputy chainman of the party concrete decision will be reached after discussions at the sitting of the party. Meanwhile, enlisting process of nominees already began and this process will continue till July 27. Alongside, reelections for 141 municipalities in 83 constituencies and by elections as well as the new elections will be held on October 6. According to Azer Sariyev unlike presidential and parliament elections allocation of money in this elections have no absolute character. He also noted that free air time can be used only by registered nominees of the political parties and blocs which surround about half of all the nominees. The agitation campaign will be finished 60 days before the elections. According to Mr. Sariyev in order to hold transparent elections pilot projects including installation of monitors as well as enlightenment works will be realized in the regions.
