Italy is one of the largest trade partners of Azerbaijan and its companies aspire to do business in the country, the Azeri ambassador Emil Karimov said in a recent meeting with Italian Under-secretary of the State for Foreign Affairs Famiano Crucianelli.
Karimov said Italy is taking interest in the Azeri gas sector. Moreover, there are extensive opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the non-oil sector. Large Italian companies, including Technimont chemicals enterprise and Fincantieri shipbuilding company, have expressed interest in entering the Azeri market, he said. The envoy underscored the importance of the memorandum on establishing a supervisory forum on economic relations in 2004, AssA-Irada informs. Crucianelli emphasized the high level of ties between the two countries. Italy is interested in deepening collaboration with Azerbaijan and will tackle work as part of the supervisory forum soon, he added. /AzerNEWS/
