06 September 2006 [21:47] - Today.Az
The leaders of Turkic language-speaking countries, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, will meet in Antalya on November 17, five years after their last meeting.
The leaders, who share ancient cultural and linguistic ties, will discuss how to develop better relations among themselves during the "Turkic Language Speaking Countries Summit." The summit was not organized for last five years due to some inconsistencies, which hindered the further development of Turkey's relations with some Central Asian countries. The first of these meetings was organized in 1992, as part of an initiative implemented by the late Turkish president, Turgut Ozal. Turkey will host the "Turkic World Assembly" on September 16-18 in Antalya and will later host the "World Turkic Businessmen Summit" on November 18-19 in Istanbul. /www.zaman.com/
