The Georgian Foreign Ministry regrets Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's statement that "Russia so far does not plan to resume air traffic with Georgia."

"Despite the Russian sanctions, Georgia will carry on the democratic development, integration with Euro-Atlantic organizations and peaceful restoration of territorial integrity," says a Tuesday statement by the ministry. "Georgia wants Russia to be its partner in the achievement of this goals."

It is possible to travel between Georgia and Russia only through third countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, and Turkey, since October 3. Itar-Tass
