Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Japan Azer Huseyn has met the newly appointed minister of economy, trade and industry of this country Akira Amari, who is also co-chair of the Azerbaijan-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship League on Japanese side, press service of FM said.
Mr. Akira Amari represents the ruling Liberal Party and heads the energy policy commission. He spoke of expansion of bilateral relations between two countries, expressing pleasure with the successful visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Japan in March current year. Touching upon the energy policy of Azerbaijan, the Japanese Minister especially emphasized importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. Mr. Akira Amari congratulated Ambassador Azer Huseyn on his appointment and presented the letter of invitation of Azerbaijan's minister of economy. The sides have discussed the visits of newly elected Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, FM of Japan Taro Aso to Azerbaijan, as well as Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov's visit to Japan. Azeri diplomat highlighted on the preparatory works connected to next sitting of the Azerbaijan-Japan joint economic commission due on November 21-23 in Baku.
