President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on November 6 at President Palace received delegation of the Kingdom of Jordan headed by the Prime Minister of country, the defense minister Maruf al-Bakhit.

After welcoming remarks, President of Azerbaijan said the visit would have certain impulse on the friendly, fraternal relations between two nations.

The official visit of His Majesty, King Abdullah II has been an important step in this direction, the President noted. The political relations between two countries are high level. In addition, we have to reach higher level of economic ties, as well. As stated, the current level of economic cooperation, existent trade turnover do not satisfy us. However, there is great potential to deepen these links. We should define concrete measures to widen all-round relations. President of Azerbaijan expressed hope the Jordan's ministers visiting Azerbaijan would meet with their colleagues to discuss these matters.

As stated, the embassy of Azerbaijan began functioning in Jordan and it will play certain role in development of bilateral relations, the Head of Azerbaijan State emphasized.

The Prime Minister of Jordan Maruf al-Bakhit conveyed greetings of the King of Jordan to President of Azerbaijan, noting they had come to study and develop possible cooperation with Azerbaijan.
