Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on November 24 met with the newly appointed ambassador of Kuwait to Azerbaijan Fahd Saad Al-Mey.
Noting that he is pleased with his appointment in Azerbaijan, the ambassador said he would try to bring closer the two countries and expand bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait. The diplomat said the embassy of Azerbaijan in Kuwait has been functioning for two years and has done a lot in this direction. He conveyed greetings of the Kuwait foreign minister, emphasizing, his country is keen in development of all-round relations with Azerbaijan. Opening of Azerbaijan Embassy in Kuwait is a historical event, Mammadyarov stressed. The friendly relations between our countries have deep roots, he added. Elmar Mammadyarov highly assessed Kuwait's position on international organizations in settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, noting the "existence of potential for wider economic cooperation between two countries."
