Today, offered amendment to the labour code caused the discontent of some parliamentarians in the sitting of Milli Majlis.
The discussions of the amendments paralyzed the sitting of the parliament for half an hour. The amendments consider increasing the number of non-working days, and October 18 Independence Day, November 12 Constitution Day and November 17 National Revival Day are shown as working days Igbal Agazadeh valued it as the attempt of forgetfulness and casting shadow on the labour of those who adopted these laws and participated in the process of getting independence. Penah Hussein said that Independence and Constitution day are non-working days in most countries. Gudret Hasanguliyev offered to celebrate Novruz holiday for two days instead of five, and to consider the holidays that are supposed to be working days as non-working days. Speaker Ogtay Asadov said that it is not right to value these amendments as political decision. Siyavush Novruzov offered to celebrate Heydar Aliyev's birthday as holiday. Bahar Muradova said that none of the holidays had been forgotten and considered it important to adopt offered amendments, APA reports.
