Azerbaijani, Georgian and Turkish leaders had a trilateral meeting at Georgian Parliament.

Mikhail Saakashvili said the briefing that the Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalaki-Kars railway project will contribute to the development of regional cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev underlined that the project will bring stability and peace to the region.

Commenting on the economic importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil and the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipelines Aliyev noted that the gas pipeline will strengthen the relations of the three countries.

Azerbaijani President said oil-gas production and export will be improved adding that the implemented measures will expand the regional cooperation.

Turkish Prime Minister Rajab Tayyib Erdogan called the Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalaki-Kars railway project "Silk railway."

He said the project linking Asia and Europe is one more example of regional cooperation, APA's Georgia bureau reports.
