European Court for Human Rights received 1478 appeals from Azerbaijan till 2007, Supreme Court chairman Ramiz Rzayev told reporters.

He stated that European Court had past one decision against Azerbaijan last year. Regarding it as an ordinary case, Ramiz Rzayev considers it necessary to infer from each decision of European Court.

"Eurpean Court doesn't consider the case for its essence, but demands the state to restore rights in case of violation of European Convention requirements. State benefits from the decisions of European Court as well as a citizen. Each decision serves to improve court activities. If there are gaps in law, they are filled," he said.

Ramiz Rzayev stressed that compared to Azerbaijan European Courts makes more decision against other democratic countries in the world, APA reports.

Thus, European court made 320 decisions against Turkey, 189 against Slovenia, 120 against Ukraine, 102 against Russia, 91 against France, 61 against Hungary, 22 against Croatia, and 2 against Australia.
