Mr Mironov said he is satisfied with the results of his visit, and highlighted the importance of the signed document on establishing the Baku Branch of the International Institute of Monitoring of Development of Democracy, Parlimentarism, and observation of the suffrage of citizens in the member states of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

He told of his meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The meeting focused on a number of issues concerning bilateral relations.

He stressed that Azerbaijan is Russia's strategic partner, one of the biggest nations in the Caucasus.
