"Certainly, we would want to coordinate everything, related to the Electoral Code of Azerbaijan, with the Venice Commission and the Council of Europe.

Unfortunately, we failed to come to an agreement in the issue of creation of the election commissions with the political parties. The opinions and proposals were in direct proportion to the number of parties, participating in the discussions. Therefore, no agreement has been reached.

He said no proposals, which would be more effective that the current composition of the commissions, have been put forward.

"If in the future it is possible or professionalism of the commission is raised or they are separated from the political powers, it would be better,. But we think that democratic elections are possible under the working composition".

Chief of sociopolitical department of the Azerbaijan's presidential administration announced that this opinion was also presented to the Venice Commission.

"The fact that we failed to come to an agreement in the issues of commissions does not imply damage to democratic, fair and transparent elections. The elections in Azerbaijan will meet all international standards", concluded Hasanov.
