Date and venue of the summit of the heads of states of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) have been changed.
Due to this, the event will be held in Georgian port city Batumi, not Tbilisi, as it was previously planned, reports Novosti-Azerbaijan with reference to the organization's secretariat in Kiev.
The summit will be held for one but not for two days.
It was initially proposed to hold the summit in early June in Tbilisi.
A session of the Foreign Ministers of the member-states, as well as a regular session of the GUAM National Coordinators Council will be held before the summit in Georgia. During the meetings the sides will discuss further prospects of the said organization and the documents, prepared for adoption in the summit.
Azerbaijan will pass its chairmanship in GUAM to Georgia.
It should be reminded that the second summit of the heads of the member-states was held in Baku on June 18-19 of 2007. It was attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushenko and Prime Minister of Moldova Vasile Tarlev.
