Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced some details of the Istanbul talks regarding Ukraine, Azernews reports, citing the Russian minister telling at a press conference at the UN.

According to him, if the agreement reached in Istanbul was signed between the delegations of the two countries in April 2022, Ukraine would remain within the borders of 1991, except for Crimea (annexed by Russia - Note) and territories controlled by Russian troops at that time.

It should be noted that on March 10, within the framework of the diplomatic forum held in Antalya, a meeting was held between the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Russia, Dmitry Kuleba and Sergey Lavrov, and on March 29, negotiations at the delegation level were started in Istanbul.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian side handed over the draft agreement ("Istanbul Communiqué") to the representatives of Russia. Here, among other issues, it was suggested that Ukraine is ready for non-alignment status as a non-nuclear country under special security guarantees and that the Crimean issue should be resolved through diplomacy within 15 years.
