15 January 2010 [12:33] - Today.Az
Iraq's President Jalal Talabani says the dispute between Tehran and Baghdad over the Fakkeh oil well will soon be settled.
Talabani made the comments during a press conference with the Head of Iraq's Supreme Islamic Council, Sayyed Ammar Al-Hakim on Thursday.
The dispute began last month after some Iraqi officials accused Iran of deploying a group of soldiers near the oil well on Iraqi territory.
Iran rejected the claims, saying that the well is located on its side of the border.
Tehran said that some American and Arab media outlets have been trying to create a media frenzy about the oil well to damage the friendly ties between Iran and Iraq.
