On Jan. 19, at Yerevan’s Shengavit Community Court, when the judge read out Nikol Pashinyan’s verdict, those in the courtroom began to chant “Shame! Shame!”
The numerous protesters gathered outside the court building also voiced the same sentiment to the verdict that Pashinyan would be imprisoned for seven years. In fact, many were crying, panorama.am reported.
The crowd outside the building also chanted “We are all Nikol” and “Fight, fight till the end!”
After hearing this last slogan, police and special military units began to get in close, demanding that demonstrators vacate the court premises, with many officers forcibly pushing people aside.
Police backed down somewhat when Armenian National Congress representatives announced to demonstrators to go home.
Oddly enough, in all the hustle and bustle, no one seems to have noticed how they took Pashinyan away.
