On Jan. 19-21, Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri paid a visit to Arab Republic of Egypt.
Within the bounds of the visit second meeting of Georgian-Egypt Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Commission and Georgian-Egypt business forum was held.
During the visit, the Prime Minister held meetings with President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Muhammad Hosni Mubarak, Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif, Minister of International Cooperation Fayza Abol-Naga and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The issues of Georgian-Egypt bilateral cooperation and opportunities of realization of joint investment projects in the sphere of energy, pharmaceutical production, informational technologies, tourism, etc., were discussed on the meetings.
The Prime Minister of Georgia made a speech on the business forum and also made a presentation concerning economic situation and investment opportunities in Georgia.
Within the bounds of visit the following documents were signed: 1) The Protocol of the Second Meeting of the Georgian-Egypt Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Commission; 2) The Program of Cooperation in the Sphere of Tourism between the Governments of Georgia and the Arab Republic of Egypt; 3) The Memorandum of Understanding between the Port of Alexandria and the Port of Poti; 4) Agreement between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Georgia and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
