Events happening in Palestine over the past few months and the statements by the Israeli officials call for serious actions by the Muslim countries, said Foreign Minister of Iran Manouchehr Mottaki.

"It needs to as soon as possible hold a meeting of the joint committee of foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the League of Arab States," said Mottaki.

According to him, "the current situation around Jerusalem and the statements by the officials of the Zionist regime is an alarm for all the peoples of the world".

"All countries, particularly Muslim countries, should take serious action and doubly strengthen their efforts in this regard," said Iranian foreign minister.
