U.S. president was pleased with Turkish premier's offer to host the next Entrepreneurship Summit.

U.S. National Security Council spokesman Mike Hammer said on Thursday that President Barack Obama was pleased over the offer by Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan to host the next Entrepreneurship Summit which would be the continuation of the meeting held in Washington on April 26 and 27.

As Obama mentioned in his speech in Cairo nearly a year ago, the U.S. wanted to deepen "dialogue" with Muslim societies in the world and also develop new partnerships based on "mutual respects and interests", said Hammer.

Hammer noted that Obama welcomed Erdogan's offer, adding that this was another example of the deepness of strategic partnership between the U.S. and Turkey.

U.S. departments of Commerce and State have co-hosted the Entrepreneurship Summit on April 26 and 27 which brought together more than 275 participants from over 50 countries around the world from Morocco to Indonesia, Uganda to Kazakhstan, France to India.

Erdogan had sent a letter to Obama with Deulcom International's CEO Baybars Altuntas during the summit, proposing to hold the next Entrepreneurship Summit in Istanbul.
