Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin said Tuesday Russia was working with Turkey to reduce the price of natural gas supplied by Gazprom. Speaking to reporters at Ankara's Esenboga International Airport, Sechin said that if the efforts of Turkey to purchase natural gas from other suppliers continue, this would make it very difficult for Gazprom to reduce the price of natural gas supplied to Turkey.

Russian and Turkish relations are more than just relations between any two neighbors and we are very pleased about this, Sechin said. We will sign agreements on visa exemption, agriculture and tourism during Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's visit to Turkey, Sechin said.

When it comes to energy, Russia's priorities are "nuclear energy and transportation of natural gas and oil," Sechin stressed. Touching on the Samsun-Ceyhan Oil Pipeline, Sechin said that Russia gave high importance to this project.

We are working with our Turkish partners with ease on the Samsun-Ceyhan Oil Pipeline project. However, we can not say the same thing for our Bulgarian partners, Sechin said.

We will do what we have to do regarding the Samsun-Ceyhan Oil Pipeline project, Sechin also said.
